Scripture: Revelation 3:1–6 (GNT)
This week, Reverend Everett walked us through Jesus’ message to the church in Sardis — a community that had a reputation for being alive but was spiritually fading beneath the surface. In the Good News Translation, Jesus’ words come through with striking clarity: “You are dead! So wake up.” It’s a direct call, but also a compassionate one. God sees when our faith has grown tired, and He invites us to strengthen what’s still there.
Reverend Everett reminded us that many people today feel exactly like Sardis — worn down, going through the motions, or quietly disconnected. Yet God doesn’t leave us in that place. He calls us to remember what we received, hold on to it, and return to a faith that is awake, honest, and alive.
