Scripture: John 20:19-22
Title: From Fear to Faith
On the evening of the resurrection, the disciples gathered behind locked doors, weighed down by fear and uncertainty. Yet into that very space of trembling hearts, Jesus stepped in and spoke the words they needed most: “Peace be with you.” This week’s message reminded us that fear does not disqualify us from God’s presence—He meets us right where we are, even when the doors of our hearts feel shut tight. His peace is not fragile or temporary; it is a gift breathed into us by the One who conquered death.
As Jesus showed His hands and side, the disciples moved from fear to joy, from hiding to hope. And just as He breathed the Holy Spirit upon them, He breathes courage, strength, and purpose into us today. When fear tries to hold us still, His peace moves us forward. When uncertainty clouds our steps, His Spirit empowers us to walk in faith. This is the invitation of John 20:19–22: to let the risen Christ transform our fear into a deeper, steadier trust in Him.

Meet our Senior Pastor
Reverend Benny L. Everett III, MDiv., B.S., is the esteemed pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bunche Park in Miami Gardens, Florida. A native of Pahokee, Florida, he is married to Dr. DeAnna Williams-Everett, and they have six children.
Reverend Everett began preaching at the age of eighteen and has been guided by influential mentors throughout his journey. Before his current role, he served as Senior Pastor at various churches in Florida and South Carolina.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University, a Master’s degree in School Counseling from South Carolina State University, and a Master of Divinity from Virginia Union University. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University.
Reverend Everett's achievements include serving as a former Commissioner for the City of Pahokee and founding the Glades Area NAACP Youth/College Division. He is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Despite his many accolades, his most incredible honor is his call to ministry. Reverend Everett passionately preaches and teaches the Word of God, aiming to be a prophetic problem solver and share the liberating Gospel of Jesus Christ.
